Example Itinerary

Arrival Day

Arrive and settle into your holiday home or set up your tent or touring caravan. Pick up supplies from one of the local shops in Ingleton Village, and then sit out and enjoy Falls Park’s 360 degree panoramic views of a limestone valley, ancient woodland, the River Doe and Ingleborough, one of the Yorkshire Three Peaks.

Set off around the Ingleton Waterfalls Trail (Admission Prices: Adult £10. Child £5) and take in the spectacular falls that made Ingleton famous. Stop off for lunch in Ingleton village centre at the halfway point of the walk and enjoy a meal at one of the many pubs, café and restaurants. If you pack your swimwear, you can go for a swim in Ingleton’s heated outdoor pool. Then head back to Falls Park up the second half of the waterfall trail, stopping for a picnic at Thornton Force, the largest and most spectacular waterfall on the trail.

Take a train ride on the famous Settle to Carlisle Railway, taking you over the spectacular Ribblehead Viaduct.

Try something new. Ingleton is famous for its caves, and there are a number of companies in the locality that will take you on a potholing underground adventure. Or try your hand at rock climbing at the Ingleton Climbing Wall.
Just up the road from Ingleton is Kirkby Lonsdale. Take a short car ride from Falls Park and park up by the famous Devil’s Bridge. Have a walk out by the river and then enjoy your dinner in one of the many cafés or pubs in Kirkby Lonsdale, or even buy a picnic to have by the river.

Feeling fit and energetic? Why not try the 3 Peak Challenge. Start from Falls Park and we’ll record your time and put you on our leader board when you get back from completing the circuit over Ingleborough, Pen-y-gent and Whernside.

From Falls Park the White Scar Caves can be seen on the far side of the valley. Brave the stepping stones across the River Doe and enjoy a walk to the caves before going on a guided tour of the spectacular underground world. Stop for dinner in the café at White Scar Caves before heading back to Falls Park the way you came.

You’ll now feel relaxed and refreshed and we hope to see you again soon. Why not take the scenic route home, stopping off at Ribblehead Viaduct.
